Vidur’s Film Diary – October 2010

 

It’s a bleeding October. It’s now known that ” Dabangg ” created history last month. Now Rajnikant’s new Tamil film ” Endhiran ” and its dubbed version”  Robot ” is re-writing box office history. All the other releases of this month have got mixed response and majority of them failed miserably.

To emphasise my point of view and to show latest trends in the industry, I am quoting few relevant tweets of eminent trade analyst Mr. Taran Adarsh and some others :

Keshu Ramsay : Producer, Director, Cinematographer and part-time actor Keshu Ramsay died on 19th October, 2010 in Mumbai. His son Aryeman is my student and I used to go to his house to train Aryeman before the launch of ” Family – Ties of Blood “. Before launching his son Aryeman in the above mentioned film, Keshu Ramsay produced many successful films with Akshay Kumar,Most notable among them were Khiladi series films : ” Sabse Bada Khiladi ” , ” Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi “,  ” Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi ” , ” International Khiladi ” and ” Khiladi 420 ” . He also produced Amitabh Bachchan starrers ” Khakee ” and ” Family – Ties of Blood “.

Born in the family of horror film maker Ramsay family, Keshu Ramsay directed 6 films like : ” Ashant ” , ” Khoj” ,  ” Saaya ” , ” Dak Bangala ” and ” Haveli ” in his earlier days.

He was also a cinematographer of the three films produced by his family’s  banner : ” Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche” , ” Darwaza ” and ” Saboot “.

He also worked as an actor in ” Dahshat “. I used to meet him in his flat , when I used to go to train Aryaman. He was a perfect gentleman and an amiable person.
