BJP Victories in 2015 : From Andaman to Ladakh & Goa

DSC01182

MUMBAI – MAHARASHTRA – INDIA           OCTOBER 28, 2015           12.40 P.M.

May 2014 is the date India, Indians and the world wont be able to forget for a long time. It is permanently etched in the memory of the nationalists, seculars, Left-Liberals of India and the people of the world at large. Result of Indian general elections were declared in May and Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party won absolute majority on its own in LOK SABHA.

Almost 5 months later in October 2014 MAHARASHTRA and HARYANA, 2 states went to polls. BJP won the elections and formed governments in both the states for the first time.

Two months later in November / December 2014 JHARKHAND and JAMMU & KASHMIR state assemblies went to polls. BJP again won Jharkhand on its own and formed the government. BJP swept Jammu but fell short of majority in Jammu & Kashmir assembly. It formed the government with the help of PDP of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. It got post of Speaker and Dy. Chief Minister and heads several important ministries. Both the state governments are the first for BJP. JHARKHAND on its own and JAMMU & KASHMIR in coalition.

So the year 2014 ended with unprecedented success for BJP. First Lok Sabha, then in the assemblies of MAHARASHTRA, HARYANA , JHARKHAND and JAMMU & KASHMIR, BJP scored impressive victory in all the 4 states.

2015 started with a sour note. In February 2015, BJP lost DELHI to Aam Aadmi Party. Its BJP’s only defeat till date. Its only defeat of indefatigable Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister and modern-day Chanakya and bellicose Amit Shah, the BJP President.

August 2015 came as the month of victory in Local Body elections. BJP made impressive gains in the municipal boards and municipal corporations in MADHYA PRADESH, RAJASTHAN and BRUHAT BENGALURU MAHANAGARA PALIKE. BJP made clean sweep in the Local Body elections of the 3 states.

But the real game changer came a month later.

Came month of September 2015 and it brought unexpected and unprecedented victory of BJP in Panchayat and Municipal elections of ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS. Andaman & Nicobar Islands are the remote area and was not considered as stronghold of BJP.

All the other above mentioned national, provincial and local body elections were widely reported and discussed in the national print and electronic media. But Local Body elections of ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS were not even prominently and properly reported. Media almost ignored it. Therefore I am chronicling results of these election.

October 2015 brought another BJP victory to our notice. BJP swept LADAKH AUTONOMOUS HILL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL. It won 2/3rd majority in LAHDC for the first time.

In the same month, i.e. October 2015, while I was about to post this blog, last night came the news of BJP victory in the GOA Local Body Elections. Out of 11 Municipal Councils, BJP won 6, Congress won 4 and 1 got hung verdict.

But let me first start with Andaman & Nicobar Island results.

Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections

A complete rejection of the Congress, acceptance of RSS programmes and attraction for Narendra Modi’s development plank seem to have worked in favour of the BJP, which registered a landslide victory in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections in October 2015.

Coming at a time when the BJP has conquered an area that has a mixed demography comprising Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus and Christians.

 Total Seats – 26 : BJP 18 / Congress 5 / National Conference 2 / Independent 1

Thus apart from DELHI assembly elections, BJP, after winning Lok Sabha, won 4 assembly elections of MAHARASHTRA, HARYANA, JHARKHAND and JAMMU & KASHMIR.

BJP also won Local Body Elections in 6 states of MADHYA PRADESH, RAJASTHAN, BENGALURU, ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS, LADAKH and GOA.

China’s India War & Timid Congress Response

DSC01182

MUMBAI – MAHARASHTRA – INDIA           MAY 07 , 2013           08.30 P.M.

China’s India war of 1962 is still fresh in my memory land . Humiliation of my country is yet to get obfuscated in my sub-conscious mind . Deep scars of Chinese slap is yet to get healed in my psyche . Memory of insulting invasion of our motherland refuses to go away from my being . And again almost after 50 years same hegemonic China enacted second part of the same act in 2013 .

India China Border - Conflict Zone

India China Border – Conflict Zone

India & China - Areas of Conflict

India & China – Areas of Conflict

China , on April 15 , 2013 , intruded 19 km. into Ladakh . She is showing her ugly , belligerent and bellicose face once again . Once again Ladakh is facing the brunt of Chinese hegemony . Chinese are as brazen as ever . And the ruling party of our country , the Indian National Congress , is as pliant , as subservient , as ever . Like its tallest leader Jawahar Lal Nehru , present – day leaders of Congress are again ready for genuflection . Sovereignty of India is being compromised unabashedly .

Daulat Beg Oldie and Chumar are the latest flash points . Chinese soldiers  entered into our territory , erected tents and refused to return to their earlier position . And it is not a minor incursion . Their intrusion is 19 km deep into our Ladakh .

Minister for External Affairs , Shri Salman Khurshid , is ambivalent as usual . Government of India and our Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh is stoic as usual . Something is being cooking up behind our back . All of a sudden news came that Chinese withdrew from Ladakh and the face off ended . Government Of India spokesperson is saying that Chinese withdrawal from our territory is unconditional . That they voluntarily returned to the pre April 15 position . But it seems that Congress , the Indian National Congress , is playing a dirty and dangerous game .

The buzz is that our government agreed to dismantle the infrastructure in Daulat Beg Oldie sector of Ladakh . They have compromised Chumar post . This particular post overlooks Karakoram Pass . The Karakoram Pass and the Karakoram highway is the lifeline of Pakistan for Pakistan Occupied Kashmir [ POK ] . Indian army can keep vigil on troop movement and clandestine arm supply and on any Sino-Pak nefarious designs . That is the reason for the latest face off .

It is widely believed that to force India to dismantle the bunkers and Chumar watch tower , China sent her soldiers to squat on Indian soil . She showed audacious belligerence and timid Congress succumbed to the pressure and agreed to compromise Chumar post .

China withdrew from Indian soil on May 06 , 2013 . But saddest part is that India also withdrew from Indian soil . If needed , China can come again . It is not the question of China’s intrusion or withdrawal . It is question of India’s genuflection . It is question of our leaders betrayal . Since the days of HINDI CHINI BHAI BHAI  , to the day of present day economic cooperation , nothing has changed in the belligerent attitude of China or the subservient attitude of our leaders of Congress .

China has a problem with all her neighbours . Be it India in the south , be it Indo – China in south – east , be it Taiwan in the east , be it Japan in north – east or be it Mongolia in the north . China’s thirst for land and more land is unquenchable .

Jawahar Lal Nehru betrayed India in 1962 . His descendents are doing the same now . According to Nehru ,  Aksai Chin was the barren area . He infamously said , ” not a blade of grass grows there .” After 50 years his party’s foreign minister says about the Chinese tents , ” it is like acne .” Nehru’s party’s incumbent prime minister says , it is a local problem . ”

We have to be careful . We have to be vigilant . Congress has history of not protecting our motherland . They are compulsive liars . They can go to any length for protecting their throne , but not the country .

According to me we should engage Japan , Mongolia , Taiwan , Vietnam and Philippines in this war against China’s hegemony and her territorial invasions .

I , on behalf of all the students and staff of VIDUR Acting Institute , which is known as Vidur’s Kreating Charakters   denounce China , her bellicose and belligerent leaders and also the spineless leaders of Congress .

Once upon a time there was a sardar known as Maharaja Ranjit Singh , who conquered Ladakh .

Alas ! Now there is a sardar known as prime minister Manmohan Singh , who compromised Ladakh .

50 Years of Chinese Invasion of India

MUMBAI – MAHARASHTRA – INDIA           OCTOBER 31 , 2012           08.00 P.M.

As I have stated in my blog about Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 , the year 1962 in general and month of October in particular is permanently etched in my memory . Chinese invasion in October 1962 was not just an attack on India , it was not just an invasion , it was humiliation of a gigantic proportion .

Jawaharlal Nehru

Jawaharlal Nehru (Photo credit: Phillie Casablanca)

According to me the root cause for this humiliation was Jawahar Lal Nehru . The 1st Prime Minister of India and his utopian and non – pragmatic policies brought shame to our nation . Fabian Socialism propagated by the 1st Prime Minister of India , Jawahar Lal Nehru was highly romantic dogma in the world of cunning politics . It is difficult to understand Nehru’s fascination and admiration for China and Chinese culture . He propounded a utopian idea of PANCHASHEEL . He coined an emotive slogan of  ” Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai ” . But it all was in vain . China never reciprocated his utopian feelings of friendship and brotherhood .

His party , Indian National Congress and its leaders were forced to subjugation by Nehru . He , along with his friend Krishna Menon , who was Minister of Defence in the Government of India , lulled everyone to sleep and forced the nation to believe that everything is fine and China and Chinese people are our great friend .

Chinese incursions and hostile activities in the Aksai Chin area of Ladakh were brought to Nehru’s notice but he suppressed the information , sat on the dossiers and lied to even his peers and colleagues . He even kept his cabinet ministers in dark and everyone was forced to accept his lies .

English: A Locator map of North East Frontier ...

A Locator map of North East Frontier Agency in 1961. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

China and India shared a long border, sectioned into three stretches by Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan, which follows the Himalayas between Burma and what was then West Pakistan. A number of disputed regions lie along this border. At its western end is the Aksai Chin region, an area the size of Switzerland, that sits between the Chinese autonomous region of Xinjiang and Tibet (which China declared as an autonomous region in 1965). The eastern border, between Burma and Bhutan, comprises the present Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh (formerly the North East Frontier Agency). Both of these regions were overrun by China in the 1962 conflict.

Chinese launched simultaneous offensives in Ladakh and across the McMahon Line on 20 October 1962, coinciding with the Cuban Missile Crisis. Chinese troops advanced over Indian forces in both theatres, capturing Rezang la in Chushul in the western theatre, as well as Tawang in the eastern theatre. The war ended when the Chinese declared a ceasefire on 20 November 1962, and simultaneously announced its withdrawal from the disputed area.

Brazenly attacking India , capturing Indian territory and then declaring unilateral ceasefire was a calculated step by China to humiliate India . Nehru’s romanticism , his doctrine of PANCHASHEEL , his ” Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai ” slogan and his dream of becoming a world leader was shattered beyond repair . His humiliation was complete and total . But even after bringing shame to the nation , he was shamelessly glued to his chair .

I vividly remember those days of night curfew and blackouts . Whole nation was frightened . Nations morale was in shambles . Indian Army was battered . Prestige of India was defaced and defiled . But our ruling party Indian National Congress was unapologetic and Nehru clan shamelessly refused to take responsibility and continued to lead us to some other inglorious future .

This October we are again remembering this shameful chapter of our not so distant past . Sitting in the office of my Acting Institute Vidur’s Kreating Charakters , I am remembering those embarrassing days and would like to forget the agony , the shame and utter humiliation , which we faced because of  the 1st Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru and his party Indian National Congress .

Let us take a resolve that never again we should blindly believe the lies of the Congress and its leaders . Let us make efforts to bring nationalist forces to power and make our country strong and powerful .

[ Some facts and figures have been taken from Wikipedia . I express my gratitude . ]

Vidur’s Travel Diary – 11 : Manali

DEORIA – UTTAR PRADESH – INDIA           JUNE 19 , 2012           11.45 P.M.

It is much delayed blog . I wanted to write and post it immediately after my return from Manali on April 10 , 2012 but couldn’t do it because of my eye operation . Then there were other works like ; training actors and writing my book on acting and this particular blog got postponed and delayed . I decided to complete it and post it today , while sitting in the office cum study of my Deoria house .

One day while I was in my class in Mumbai , I got a call from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions . They wanted me to train the stars of their new film which stars Ranbir Kapoor , Deepika Padukone , Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor . And for that they wanted me to travel to Manali for a month . I jumped at the idea because Himachal Pradesh , along with the Union Territory of Chandigarh , are the only provinces of North India , which I have not visited yet . And my second temptation was that I would be able to meet Ranbir Kapoor after a long time , whom I have trained for ” Saawariya “ . In addition to that I would get an opportunity to work with Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin also .

Map of India showing location of Himachal Pradesh

From Mumbai , I took early morning flight for Chandigarh on March 18 , 2012 . I reached Chandigarh and proceeded for Manali by car , I saw this Union Territory for the first time . Chandigarh is the first planned city of independent India . I was simply amazed . Swanky airport , 4 / 6 lane roads , gigantic traffic islands and neatly maintained colonies ; Chandigarh is pride of India .

Chandigarh Airport

Chandigarh Airport

A Traffic Island of Chandigarh

A Traffic Island of Chandigarh

I could not watch much because I was put in a car and immediately proceeded for 310 km. long road journey to Manali . My impression of Chandigarh is what I could see through the window of a speeding car .

Travelling time to Manali from Chandigarh is 11 hours . As soon as I entered  Himachal Pradesh , hills started. Snow capped mountains and rocky landscape is beautiful and breathtaking . As per Hindu legends Manali is associated with Manu , who started procreation on the pious land of Manali after the great deluge , MAHAPRALAY , the end of the world . It happened in SATYUGA . Manali is also associated with Maharshi Shringi , who performed PUTRESHTI YAGYA for King Dhasharath and thus the king got 4 sons ; Rama , Bharat , Lakshman and Shatrughna . It happened in TRETAYUGA . In DWAPARYUGA , Arjun worshipped Shiva in a cage near Manali and got PASHUPATASTRA . His elder brother Bheem married Hidimba here and had a son Ghatotkach . Thus from SATYUGA to TRETEYUG to DWAPARYUG , Manali is closely associated with our history , culture and ethos .

Known as Queen of Hill Stations , Manali is situated at an altitude of 2050 metres and is 40 km. away from Kullu , the district headquarters . One can reach Manali by road via Chandigarh or you can take a flight to Kullu and then proceed for Manali by car .

After 11 hour-long car journey from Chandigarh , I reached Manali and was put at Hotel Quality Inn River Country Resort . Chilli winds greeted me at the arrival . I was forced to take out my woollen jacket . I was amazed at the difference of weather condition in India . When I left Mumbai , its temperature was 35 degree celsius . In Manali inside the room heater was on .

Hotel Quality Inn River Country is a fabulous hotel . It’s only drawback is that it is 2/3 km. away from the Mall Road , main market of Manali .

Colourful Tibetan monastery is another landmark place . It is situated near the Mall .

I never knew that Hidimba of MAHABHARAT belonged to Manali . There is a pagoda like temple dedicated to Hidimba , known as Devi Hadimba in popular parlance . King Bhadur Shah built this temple in 1553 . This four tiered pagoda shaped temple is made of wood . Front door is carved with figures and symbols and is also made of wood . King Bhadur Shah was very happy to see the temple when it was completed . As per local tradition , king ordered to cut off the hand of the person who made this temple , so that he can not replicate this temple elsewhere . Undaunted by this misfortune , the artiste trained his left hand and made even better version of this temple at Trilokinath in Chamba district . It is so unfortunate that local people thought that this masterpiece should not be made anywhere , so they chopped off the head of that artiste . That poor nameless fellow lost his hand first and his life later on , for creating two masterpieces .

How come someone complete any travelogue of Manali without going to Rohtang Pass . At an altitude of 3980 metres , Rohtang Pass is situated 51 km. away from Manali . This pass connects Manali to Leh in Ladakh . It is open for public from June to September every year . So when I was there , it was closed . Road was cleared till Gulaba only . So I did not get the opportunity to visit Rohtang Pass . I went up to Gulaba only . Despite inclement weather , I enjoyed my 5 day consecutive visits to the place . 4/5 layers of woollen clothes were not sufficient even in the month of April .

I reached Manali in the night of March 18 , 2012 . Stayed there for 21 days . It was a different experience . I thoroughly enjoyed my paid holiday , courtesy Dharma Productions .

After every visit I remember Hindi poet Agyeya’s lines . In the case of Manali , these oft – repeated lines are more pertinent and relevent .

पार्श्व गिरि का नम्र चीड़ों में , डगर चढ़ती उमंगों सी ;

बिछी पैरों में नदी ज्यों दर्द की रेखा , विहग शिशु मौन नीड़ों में ;

मैंने आँख भर देखा , दिया मन को दिलासा ;
पुनः आऊँगा , भले ही बरस दिन , अनगिन युगों के बाद ;

क्षितिज ने पलक सी खोली , दमक कर दामिनी बोली ;
” अरे यायावर ! रहेगा याद ? “
………………………………………………..अज्ञेय
[ Tenderness of mighty mountains reflected in pine trees ,
Upward moving pathways symbolizing my enthusiasm ,
River , flowing deep down like a line of pain ,
Tiny tots of birds sitting silently in their nest ,
I saw everything with contentment ,
Consoled myself , I would come again ,
After a year or may be after ages ……….
Horizon opened its eyes , lightning dazzled in the sky ,
As if saying ………………
O Wanderer ! Would you ever even remember ? ]
