Year End Musings : Vidur Acting Institute in 2015

I wrote Year End Musing in 2010 , 2011 & 2012. In those days I used to write about the Hindi films and Hindi film industry in general. Then I thought that there are many websites and many film analysts and trade pundits doing the same job. So what is the need of me writing the same stuff. Therefore I didn’t write Year End Musings in 2013 & 2014.

But this year it occurred to me that I should chronicle yearly success stories and accomplishments of Vidur Acting Institute. In this field, where veterans like Shri Roshan Taneja and Sushri Ashha Chandra are almost retired, there are only few genuine ones left doing their jobs ethically.

This arena is now dominated by few upstarts, who can go to any length to get their prey. They can make false claims, they can Photoshop some pictures and present it as the proof of their recent successes and accomplishments. They have various fee structures of the same course to lure and hoodwink gullible out-of-town students and finally they give free demo class, collect students, click pictures and post it as the new batch of their tottering institute. But it is their moral and ethical values. If they are not bothered, why should I?

I don’t have to compete with them. 4 generations of NEW AGE Hindi film actors are my students. They are :

PULKIT SAMRAT – URVASHI RAUTELA

Apart from them, I have trained modern-day Telugu super stars like ; ANUSHKA SHETTY , ALLU ARJUN , NAG CHAITANYA  & RAM CHARAN. Current Bengali super star DEV is also my student. Why should I lower my standard to the level of some foul-mouth skunks, if I have such an enviable list. I have decided to paint a true picture of my yearly accomplishments with facts and figures. So this year onwards I will keep on posting Year End Musings.

11 actors / actresses / singers, who are trained by me made their debut from November 2013 to July 2015. Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja is the 11th and latest student of Vidur Acting Institute, who made debut as Lead Actor in a film called ” Second Hand Husband “. Here is the complete list.

In total 162 Hindi films got released in 2015. It is heartening that 101 actors trained by me have appeared in lead role in these films. This makes my success rate 62.35 % in 2015.

MISCELLANEOUS STUDENTS : 2015

1 – TV = My 45 students worked in various serials on various channels in 2015.

2 – AD = My 49 students worked as Brand Ambassadors of various products in 2015.

3 – THEATRE = My 15 students appeared in various plays in 2015.

4 – REGIONAL FILMS = My 5 students did lead roles in 4 Telugu films in 2015.

Thus in total 124 students worked in TV, AD, THEATRE & REGIONAL FILMS. If you add 101 students of films , this number comes to a whopping  215.

SPECIAL PROJECTS : 2015

1 – Worked with Prakash Jha for his debut film ” Jai Gangaajal ” in November 2014.

2 – Abhishek Dogra made debut as director of ” Dolly Ki Doli ” in January 2015.

3 – Worked with Rohit Shetty for ” Khatron Ke Khiladi – Season 6 ” in February 2015.

4 – Worked with Manish Dayal for ” Viceroy’s House ” directed by Gurinder Chaddha in September 2015.

5 – Nepali star Vinay Shreshtha‘s 2nd film ” Resham Filili ” was released in December 2015.

VIDUR ACTING INSTITUTE

100 CRORE CLUB : 2015

Till date 35 Hindi films have earned 100 crore or more at the box office. 1 film is in 3oo crore club, 1 in 250 crore, 3 in 200 crore, 7 in 150 crore and 23 are in 100 crore club. Out of these 35 films, my 81 students are there in 32 films. Only ” Ghajini “, ” Holiday ” & ” Ek Villain ” are the films, which have no students of mine. In this field my success rate is 92 % .

BATCHES : 2015

In 2015, Vidur Acting Institute churned out 08 Batches. 43 students got trained and have started their struggle. There are several star-sons and star-daughters, but it is not proper to disclose their names at this juncture.

ACTING PARTNERSHIPS : 2015

 

1 – Vidur Acting Institute became acting partner of  ” VAAYU FEST 2015 “ of NMIMS, Mumbai.  4 more are coming in 2016.

As I finish this blog I am satisfied that victory march of Vidur Acting Institute is no less significant than previous years. 2015 ends with a heartening note. 2016 promises some more sunshine.
